The My First Robot laboratory mat takes up the game world of the My First Robot app. The candy inventor has to move through his laboratory to get to his devices. The children take turns uncovering playing cards that show them the next destination of the My First Robot and program the way there with the Tinkerbots Blockly app. Various objects are shown on the 16 fields of the mat, which the children already know from the storyline of the My First Robot app.
The My First Robot laboratory mat enables the transition from programming with the My First Robot app to the Tinkerbots Blockly app. This makes the laboratory mat the perfect add-on for children who want to go a step further after programming with the My First Robot app.

The My First Robot laboratory mat contains a play mat with 16 fields in the size 66x66 cm. Matching the 16 fields, the set contains 16 playing cards with images of the objects on the fields.
The mat is made of polyester and is durable, flexible, heat-resistant and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
Gameplay
The children take turns covering one of the playing cards from the pile and trying to move the My First Robot onto the corresponding field on the mat. The programming environment of the Tinkerbots Blockly App is used for this. If the child manages to get the robot onto the field with one attempt, he or she may keep the card. If this does not succeed, the card is put back and the next child reveals a new card. Whoever has the most cards at the end wins the game.
By using the Tinkerbots Blockly app, the children have the opportunity to move the My First Robot precisely over the play mat. For this it is necessary to deal with Tinkerbots Blockly in more detail before the first game in order to get an understanding of the programming blocks.
